A little Update...

I appreciate all of you who keep coming by here and leaving a comment :-) I feel this blog is a little boring for you but it's nice that you still take the time to say hi and encourage me with your kind notes. I really just try to keep updating here for myself, but I know some of you are wondering how I am getting on too so I shall try to do better with more posts.

Last week, after a few days of eating from the Flat Belly Detox I managed to get down to 125.2 lbs. I was rather pleased with myself but then guess what. . . I had a couple of glasses of wine on Friday and Saturday night and some cheese and crackers, and yes you guessed it, went back up to 127lb! I decided not to beat myself up about it. What was the point!

Anyway, this week I'm trying to still be very good. Yesterday and today I'm doing 'liquid', that meaning I'm having a slimfast shake for breakfast (usually around 10am), I have coffee when I first get up. Then in the afternoon I have a fruit smoothie, and last night for dinner I found a South Beach recipe for Egg Drop Soup (simply chicken broth, green onions and egg) and had that. Then later that evening I indulged in a bag of fat free (almost) popcorn and water!

My friend Judy posted on her blog this week about a smoothie she makes every morning, I am sharing this picture that Judy posted (because I didn't take a pic of the one I just made). . .

Doesn't this look so yummy? I was truly inspired so I went out this morning and stocked up on some fresh strawberries, blueberries and bananas. I also got some blackberries because they were only $1.97 (I only wish the blueberries were as cheap!). So, I made my smoothie just like this, added a few canned pineapple chunks at the bottom, then a tub of fat free greek yogurt, then 3 strawberries, some blueberries and half a banana. It blended up really easy (I was worried that it wouldn't because it didn't have much liquid in it, but it was great. I usually use frozen fruit and that is harder to blend). This was super yummy and was my lunch today.

Later today I will have a spinach salad, I know it's not liquid but I'm gonna have one anyway. I just feel in the mood for lots of fresh fruit and salads :-)

Hi Denise - I saw your post on Texas Bloggers. It caught my eye because I grew up in MD but now live in TX also.
Glad to find your blog. Good luck with your weight loss :)

Denise, Thanks for stopping by my blog! I wanted to let you know that I feel your pain when it comes to trying to loose weight. I've been attempting to drop 10 pounds since January. I'm not giving up, although that would be easier! I'll stop back soon to see how your doing on your journey ~ Anita

This sounds delicious Denise and is loaded with super foods!

My weight loss is at a complete standstill for an entire month now. Sigh. I'm about 8-9 pounds away from my final goal weight but I'm trying not to let that take away from what I have already accomplished. I'm a perfectionist so it's hard not to do that to myself.

You are doing really well! I must say again that at 125 to 127 you sure are a small size and weight for your height of 5'5" right? I would be so thrilled with that!

A sweet hello from Frog Hollow Farm! I just went to your blog and read about your weight loss episodes. I've been having such a tough time - I think because of my age (55) and menopause. I love wine too and don't want to give it up. And I love snacking and gnoshing, as you can tell if you read my blog - especially Italian Aperitivo (kind of like appetizers). Anyway, I've made a decision that on a daily basis I will be putting my health and diet as the number one priority, first thing I think about and get organized for the day. Today I walked for 2 miles on the treadmill while watching Showtime, and I'm trying to follow Weight Watchers and count up those points. I just get so off track sometimes because like everyone elst, our lives just take over. One day at a time is the only way I can handle things! How are you doing recently? Ciao, bella!
